PATRICK STRAIN was first recognized for his writing abilities while still in high school. In his senior year he received highest honors for both of his two short works. He was later recognized for a short story he wrote about Girl Scouts—which later inspired his humorous story: Girl Scouts…And How to Avoid Them. He is also the author of the much more serious gangster novel The Ninth Hour: a Chicago Story. He lives in the northwestern United States.
